CS4233S Overview

The CS4233S is part of a new series of pro audio converters aimed at giving cost-effective transparent audio conversion. All within one device that is easy to use and provides system level cost savings. The CS4233S is a high performance, 32-bit resolution, stereo Codec. The CS4233S supports differential analog input/outputs and 32-bit digital output/inputs via the audio serial port (ASP) at sample rates up to 384 kHz. The ADC uses a 5th-order, multibit sigma-delta modulator followed by digital filtering and decimation. This provides a dynamic range of over 115 dB and THD+N below -105 dB all within a 25 mW/ch power budget. The voltage-output DAC incorporates a proprietary analog FIR architecture to reduce out-of-band noise and minimize the external component requirements. This provides a dynamic range of over 115 dB and THD+N below -105 dB. The device can be powered from a single rail and controlled by either hardware pins, I2C or SPI, making it both flexible and easy to integrate. This, together with Cirrus’s analog gain feature, makes the CS4233S ideal for digital mixing consoles, DAW interfaces, effects processors, musical instruments and audio/video receivers.
